Balancing Your Mind and Body

What is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback, also referred to as EEG (electroencephalographic) therapy, is an interactive, fun and non-invasive therapy that works by listening to the brain’s electrical activity to teach an individual to alter the function of their brainwaves. This promotes better physical and mental well -being.

What is the Goal of Neurofeedback?

Research has proven that both physical and emotional problems develop when the speed and strength of an individual’s brainwave activity becomes unbalanced. A balanced person can quickly and easily switch between frequencies according to the body’s needs. This is referred to as neurological homeostasis.

Neurofeedback rebalances the strength and speed of the client’s own brainwaves. The brain has both slow and fast frequencies. This is because the human body needs to physiologically slow down at times (for rest or sleep) and it needs to speed up (for multi-tasking or performing fast-paced activities).

An individual who has obtained homeostasis can expect to experience a smooth functioning Central Nervous System (CNS) with less anxiety, stress, fatigue, depression, etc.
